Like all kids of a certain era, I had built a couple of Airfix or Frog kits in my youth. My interest in model building really took off (no pun intended) in 2014 after I had a rather nasty accident resulting in my inability to walk for a good while so my interest in scale models was rekindled. In August 2015 due to my injuries, I retired as a Paramedic leaving me with time on my hands. I searched the Internet for a local club (told you we had a website – Ed) with a view to improving my modelling skills. I was very fortunate to land on IPMS Cleveland and was welcomed into the club from the first night, now I can talk to like-minded people about kits and techniques much to my wife’s relief as now she doesn’t have listen to me going on about kits etc.
