My modelling commenced in 1976 when my parents bought an oval of track and a Lima Deltic – my layout has since expanded to 20’x10’ (Ed – Oo’er Matron!). My first aircraft build was a 1/72 Frog Lightning assisted by my father, followed by Frog Harrier and Mustang – I still have them. I enjoy building aircraft, carrier decks, ships, weapons, tanks and personnel. My main model interest outside of my layout is complex scratch building and conversions – not simply assembly. I enjoy the challenge and research and my OCD ensures I keep to scale and accuracy (Ed – That is why several of us took up knitting). I like my models to tell a story and look purposeful and not factory fresh. I also create my own decals. I joined IPMS in 1998 and the club in 2019.
