My first models as a kid in the 1970’s were Airfix. I think it was the Red Arrows Folland Gnat and a Spitfire.
I remember enjoying building a vintage Bentley, but most of all the Pan Am Space Clipper from 2001 and the Eagle lunar lander on a base. After that, some ‘more interesting’ things happened in my life, girls, college, work, getting married, and so on. My son got me back into modelling with Warhammer 40,000. Never played but loved building and painting. Roll on the years, and my son decided to give me a bottle of glue, a set of cutters and a Tamiya Mk V Chieftain for Father’s day. That was last year. Joined this great club, but given the expertise, I might have to take up knitting!
I like armour, you can hide your mistakes, but the preciseness of model car building, and the scope of science fiction fantasy also call to me.
